I've been experimenting with colouring my linework using Photoshop recently, with an idea for an alphabet of 'cats'...

So i've been rather lazy this summer... but i've been making some things to start selling on Etsy soon so i've not been completely useless! I've also (much to the regret of my purse) rediscovered film cameras, so here's some of my favourite summer shots...

This Way Up

This was a short project to create a poster based on the theme, 'This Way Up', which we are doing alongside illustration students in Australia. I would have liked to have had more time to spend on this, it was pretty rushed due to all the project deadlines. The idea is that the top half is the UK, with a fox, an otter and a stage, the constellation Orion and an English tree, whereas 'across the water' in Australia the tree is a baobab (which is where the main idea came from, as it is also known as an upside down tree due to the fact it looks like roots) and the animals are the equivalent, a dingo, a kangaroo and a duck billed platypus. Also the constellation is the 'Emu in the Sky'. In the UK the sun is rising and as it is on the top, and the sun is setting in Australia, as they are opposite sides of the world!

One Year

Just a bit of sillyness... the card i made for my boyfriend for our one year, with lots of little doodles of all the things we've done :)

The Swimmer

Finally this project is over... i had to produce a 32 page dummy book for the story The Swimmer by John Cheever, and also 3 finished spreads, the endpaper and the cover.
